While many of our patients are familiar with this treatment, we thought we’d answer some questions about the procedure, especially for those patients that have not yet tried this amazing treatment.

What is micro-needling?
Micro-needling is a skin rejuvenation treatment that creates healthier, younger looking skin, and helps to reduce the appearance of scars. The results are very similar to a Pixel laser treatment. Skin is stimulated with pen containing tiny sterile needles. These needles puncture the skin which stimulates natural production of collagen and elastin that plumps, firms and fills wrinkled areas of the skin. Skin is smoother and younger looking, and results are much longer lasting than what can be achieved with fillers or botox injections.

Is micro-needling painful?
This varies from person to person and their pain tolerance. ROX Spa will apply a topical numbing agent before the procedure to reduce any discomfort. Majority of patients find the treatment very tolerable and report having a sensation of light sunburn immediately post treatment.

What areas can I treat?
Nearly any area of the body can be treated with Micro-needling, though the most popular are the face, neck and chest. Arms and legs can also benefit from the treatment.

In those areas, Micro-needling can treat wrinkles, scars from acne, burns, injury, and surgery, stretch marks, enlarged pores and sun damaged skin.

What is the after care?
ROX Spa recommends the use of Tensage ampoules. Tensage is a highly potent growth factor treatment that will aid in rejuvenation and healing of the treated area. You cannot apply makeup the same day of treatment so adjust schedule accordingly. Most importantly, apply sunscreen on a daily basis.

How soon will I see results?
Normal healing time is about 7-10 days, though some skin takes longer depending on the areas treated and how extensive the treatment was to achieve the results. A series of treatments is recommended for optimal results.
